Identity politics is shorthand prejudice: a way of judging people based on identity of any kind—race, gender, religion, political party, sexual identity, nationality, class, background, or any assigned category—instead of judging them by their actual words and actions as an individual. It assigns value, guilt, authority, or credibility to a person before they are heard. No thinking required. No investment of mental effort. Just a quick and easy label that can be slapped on someone’s back between doom-scrolls. It also breeds false moral authority.
It doesn’t correct prejudice—it exaggerates it. The direction may change, but the method stays the same. Identity Politics says:
label first, judge second
Instead of engaging what a person says or does, identity politics allows someone to shortcut the entire process. A person can be dismissed as “a white male,” “a Democrat,” “a Christian,” “gay,” “foreign,” or any other label, and from that label, conclusions are drawn automatically. The individual is never actually encountered—only the category.
Because of this, identity politics destroys civil discourse. Real discussion requires:
- hearing what is said
- examining the idea for truth or error
- judging actions for right or wrong
Identity politics bypasses all of that. It replaces:
- reasoning with assumption
- evaluation with labeling
- accountability with categorization
It is not a product of critical thinking, logic, or true morality. It is a shortcut past them.
It also feeds division. Labels create groups. Groups create sides. Sides create conflict. People begin to respond not as individuals, but as representatives of categories. The reaction is then used to confirm the original label, creating a self-reinforcing cycle of hostility.
At its core, identity politics judges people for what they are labeled as, not for what they do or say. That is the definition of prejudice, racism, or bigotry.
The Solution
If the problem is shortcut judgment, the solution is disciplined thinking and consistent standards.
1) Eliminate identity from judgment entirely
- No race, gender, religion, politics, sexuality, or nationality as a basis for moral evaluation—none.
- Identity is irrelevant to justice.
2) Restore the proper order
- Hear the person
- Examine the idea
- Judge the action
Nothing else comes first.
3) Separate categories cleanly
- Ideas → evaluated for truth or falsehood
- Actions → judged for right or wrong
- People → not reduced to labels
4) Reject assumption-based reasoning
- No assigning motives, guilt, or virtue based on identity
- No predicting behavior from surface traits or affiliation
If it isn’t said or done, it isn’t a basis for judgment. Judge ideas, not the people who hold them.
5) Force accountability back to reality
- A person is accountable for what they actually do, not what they are assumed to represent
- Remove the safety net of group identity
6) Shut down label-based discourse immediately
- Refuse to engage on identity terms
- Redirect to the claim: “Address what was said.”
7) Apply the standard universally
- No exceptions for preferred or disliked groups
- The same rule applies to everyone, every time
8) Fight against ideas, not people
- except to defend yourself from violence
- with civil, sane, respectful discourse
Bottom Line
Identity politics is prejudice made efficient—a fast, low-effort way to judge people without thinking. It exaggerates the very problem it claims to solve by keeping the same flawed method: judging by externals and judging the person rather than the concept.
The only real solution is to remove identity from judgment entirely and return to a system where:
- actions determine justice
- ideas are tested for truth
- people are not reduced to categories
That restores both clarity and fairness, and makes real discourse possible again.
Remember this: If your soul (the real you) were to be put into someone else’s body, you’d still be you. Try to imagine yourself in someone else’s shoes (or body). The body is a vessel for the real person inside. You are a soul with a spirit in a body. We all are. Love the soul inside and hate sinful behavior or philosophies. Always follow the Golden Rule — Treat others like you want them to treat you. ALL people are made in the image of the Living God — treat them accordingly.

Some Bible verses to ponder:
James 2:1–4, 9
“My brothers, show no partiality as you hold the faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory.
For if a man wearing a gold ring and fine clothing comes into your assembly, and a poor man in shabby clothing also comes in,
and if you pay attention to the one who wears the fine clothing and say, ‘You sit here in a good place,’ while you say to the poor man, ‘You stand over there,’ or, ‘Sit down at my feet,’ have you not then made distinctions among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts? …
But if you show partiality, you are committing sin and are convicted by the law as transgressors.”
John 7:24
“Do not judge by appearances, but judge with right judgment.”
1 Samuel 16:7
“For the LORD sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the LORD looks on the heart.”
Romans 2:6
“He will render to each one according to his works.”
2 Corinthians 10:5
“We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ.”
1 Thessalonians 5:21
“Test everything; hold fast what is good.”
Deuteronomy 10:17
“For the LORD your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great, the mighty, and the awesome God, who is not partial and takes no bribe.”
For you and not against you,
