Read the Bible in 30 Days!

If you’re up for a challenge, and it is a challenge, then try to read the Bible in one month (30 days). Maybe you’ll spend less time on useless activities (like social media) at the same time. Most adults spend as much as 6 or 7 hours a day in useless entertainment activities (movies, TV, scrolling endlessly…). Take back your time for the Lord and get into His Word in a big way. It will take 2½ hours or less per day for 30 days to get through the Bible completely, if you are an average-paced reader.

This is not Bible study, really. It isn’t trying to get a particular feeling from the Holy Book. And it isn’t a start-at-the-beginning-and-go-to-the-end-as-fast-as-you-can exercise either. Nor is it clumped into any particular shape for any particular function (other than getting through it as concisely and fully as possible). That is to say, it isn’t topical. In fact, it is only this: a way to evenly read the Bible all the way through in exactly 30 days—and no more than 2 hours 30 minutes per day (at average speed)—without missing anything. It has been engineered for equitable division of reading time, with an eye (loosely) on content.

Now, if 2½ hours for 30 days straight is too much for you, that’s fine. Go for 60 days or 90 days or even the whole year. Just mark off the parts you’ve read (you can take notes) and keep going through the series/system. However you do it, the plan is there to help break it up into manageable pieces. I’ve done the thinking for you, so you can just follow the plan and know that you got all 66 books covered.

Since I’m in the spectrum of ADHD and Aspergers, I needed a plan that would break up the monotony of just going from front cover to back cover. There is nothing at all wrong with that method—millions of people do it annually—I just needed something to break it up some. And so that is what I have put together here. Check it out and get a feel for it by observing the times given for each day to complete it (at average speed).

However you read the Bible, the important thing is to keep reading it. Try your best to understand it. If you have accepted Christ as your Savior (that you depend solely and completely on His sacrifice) then you have the Holy Spirit in you, telling you what it means (if you ask, especially). And the next important step, that cannot be ignored, is to actually follow what it teaches you. That is called “obedience” and is very underrated today. We must be obedient to Jesus, The Father, and Their Holy Spirit. Reading the Word is one way we can hear Him. Prayer is another. Do these things daily, and keep Him in mind at all times, and He will be so close to you that you will wonder how you ever got through life without daily Bible and prayer (and Him). And THAT is the real challenge: Get so close to God that nothing else can come between you.

It doesn’t matter what day of the week or month you start. Just follow the plan each day.
