The Trinity of God Demonstrated By A Scientific Tool

Preface

Know what a science lab glove box is? (It’s not like the glove box in your vehicle.) It’s a see-through box that protects scientists from any harmful elements in/of/on their work (like toxic gases, acids, or radiation). It also protects the processes and/or materials in it from ambient impurities, temperature, and the like that might be outside of it. It accomplishes this, partly, by incorporating arm-length gloves attached to the box. The air in the box can be completely sealed off from the air where it is located. Some of them are very simple and some are very complex (temperature controls, special means of adding or removing gasses and liquids from the box, fire extinguishers, pressurization or vacuum systems, and more). Well, I’m going to use this box as a visual aid in describing my new way of seeing God in His Holy Trinity.

The Father

In my little illustration here, Father God is the scientist. The box itself is God’s ability to separate Himself from His work project. God doesn’t have arms like us (this is just an illustration; a metaphor; image; allegory; analogy; comparison; symbol, etc.).

God the Father (Yahweh, or Abba) is perfectly righteous and holy (many, many references in scripture show this). Although I cannot confirm it biblically, many believe that if evil were to come into His perfect presence, that impure thing (or life form) would be destroyed simply by being in proximity of His presence. So this box is for our protection, not His.

His ability to separate Himself from us is an amazing capability that is a mystery to me, since He is infinite in His presence.

The Son

In my illustration, Jesus Christ (Yeshua HaMashiach) is illustrated as the right hand of God. He is the right-handed glove inside the box.

The hand inside the glove is the Father’s hand (and arm). This makes the glove (Jesus) animated by the Father Himself. Indeed, Jesus is the physical representation of the Father for us to see and interact with.

15 Christ is the visible image of the invisible God.
He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation,
16 for through him God created everything
in the heavenly realms and on earth.
He made the things we can see
and the things we can’t see—
such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world.
Everything was created through him and for him.
17 He existed before anything else,
and he holds all creation together.
18 Christ is also the head of the church,
    which is his body.
He is the beginning,
supreme over all who rise from the dead.
So he is first in everything.
19 For God in all his fullness
was pleased to live in Christ,
20 and through him God reconciled
    everything to himself.
He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth
by means of Christ’s blood on the cross.

(Colossians 1:15-20, NLT)

The Holy Spirit

In the illustration, the Holy Spirit is the left-handed glove, also with the Father being the hand and arm inside of it. Since there are two realms in our reality (the Spirit Realm and the Physical Realm), it is necessary for God to provide a spiritual presence for us in a spiritual form as well as a physical form. (You know, we are all both spirit and matter.) In this way, His presence can be experienced in both realms. The third Realm is the Divine Realm, where Father is separated from His creation, as illustrated herein by the lab (and whatever else there is) outside the box.

I believe that the Son, Jesus, created everything and His Holy Spirit breathed life into it.

Since both the Holy Spirit and Jesus are God the Father, veiled just enough, whatever they know the Father knows, and whatever the Father knows they know. These “gloves” are living and “real”. They have their own wills and personas. They are not really inanimate gloves. They are very much alive in every respect. Each of them is God, just as the Father is.

Whenever either Jesus or Holy Spirit acts, it is the Father acting through them. The Bible tells us that neither of them does their own thing; they only do or say what the Father tells them.

Both Are ‘Lord’

Throughout scripture, both Jesus and Holy Spirit are referred to as “Lord” (Adonai, in Hebrew). Together, they made the Spirit Realm, with heaven, hell, the angelic race, and whatever else is there. They made that realm first[1]. Then they made the physical realm together as well.

I now believe that the Father is not in the Spirit Realm (other than through His “Gloves”), anymore than He is here on earth. I mean, He is here through Jesus and Holy Spirit, but not directly (unprotected, or unbuffered). I say this for the same reason that He is not interacting directly with us, since angels (a third of them) are evil, and since hell is there too (which is filled with evil).

Not until after the Great White Throne Judgment, the destruction of both realms, and the creation of the New Heaven and New Earth, will all creation be turned over to the Father in complete submission (as imposed by Christ). At that time, I believe, we will finally be with Father directly (since we will already be perfectly sinless by then—Thanks to Jesus and Holy Spirit).

Indeed, Jesus’ words ring true, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6) Can you see now how it is completely impossible to get beyond Jesus and Holy Spirit to gain access to the Father (unless they take you there)? You’re in a box, separated from God, the Father. Your only access to God is by way of interaction with His gloves in the box. And even that interaction is initiated and controlled by them, not us. In fact, we wouldn’t even know about God if He wasn’t revealed to us.

Conclusion

In this illustration, I see both Gloved Hands lovingly embracing us as They perform Their work on us by way of the Father’s established process and will.

God the Father made us through His Gloved Hands in a closed system that protects us evil creatures from our perfect Creator’s lethal perfection.

Now, I don’t really know how this works, since both Jesus and Holy Spirit are also perfect, Holy, and Righteous, just as the Father is (after all, they are God too). I’m just glad that God figured out how to keep us safe from His holiness and then purify us through His divine, amazing, complex process that is more wonderful and awesome than we will know in this life, so that we will someday have true fellowship with Him.

Praise God for His ability to raise us up in such a magnificent and splendid manner. Praise Him for His precognition and care in how to pull this whole thing off.

I hope that my illustration (which I believe God imparted to me) has helped the reader in some small way to see the majesty, glory, love, protection, and providence of our perfect Creator. What an amazing God we serve, Who reveals Himself as Father, Son, and Spirit, the Holy Trinity! We don’t put God in a box; He already has us in a box!

Blessings,

Gary
